Zamboanga Peninsula has an irresistible charm, owing to its rich traditional legacy, historical significance, and natural beauty.

Apart from the mainland, the region consists of several outlying islands and smaller islets, over a third of which are populated by ethnic communities that contribute to the region’s distinctive culture and color.

Fort Pilar, the Rizal Shrine, and the Punto del Desembarco de Rizal en Dapitan are important destinations for history buffs.

The beauty of Santa Cruz Island, known for its pink coralline beaches, and Once Islas, a group of eleven islands governed by the Sama Bangingi people, will appeal to nature enthusiasts.

Also worth a visit is the Yakan village weaving center, where one can observe the distinctive handweaving of tanun fabric used for tribal attire, a tradition that is deeply ingrained in the Yakan tribe’s culture.

The region is also home to the Regatta de Zamboanga, Zamboanga Hermosa Festival, P’gsalabuk Festival, and Kinabayo Festival, which are celebrated yearly in the region.

The region’s administrative jurisdiction includes three provinces: Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Zamboanga del Sur; and two cities, Zamboanga City and the City of Isabela.
