The Omni La Mansiā¤n del Rio is located in downtown San Antonio, Texas, overlooking the city's historic Riverwalk. This hacienda style hotel is three blocks from the Alamo, seven blocks from the convention center, and eight blocks from El Mercado, the largest Mexican market place in the United States.
The Spanish colonial architecture of the hotel is reflected in its Las Canarias restaurant, serving authentic Old World cuisine in an interior brick paved courtyard and three verandas descending into the Riverwalk. Signature entrees include Buffalo Carpaccio with Herbed Quinoa and Texas Blue Crab Stuffed Swordfish Tempura. Sunday champagne brunches are served weekly. The onsite El Colegio, once home to the St. Mary's College library, now houses an intimate piano bar that serves regional appetizers.
Meeting and banquet facilities within the hotel grounds offer more than 15,000 square feet of event space, including a 3,900 square foot Iberian Ballroom that accommodates groups up to 500 people.
The lobby's arched doorways lead to a fully furnished business center. Also adorning the interior of the hotel are antique style furnishings and artifacts, a gift shop and a winding wrought iron staircase. Recreational amenities include an outdoor pool with poolside bar. The hotel's sister property, Watermark Hotel and Spa, offers spa treatments and salon appointments across the Riverwalk via footbridge.
Upon request for turndown service, complimentary boxes of worry dolls are set on the pillows, with instructions to place one doll for every worry under the pillows at night. The objective of the ritual is said to assist guests in awaking the next morning worry free.
