The oldest and largest resort in Key West, Fla., the Wyndham Casa Marina Resort was built in 1920. The resort is less than two miles from the Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum, Key West Lighthouse Museum and the Audubon House & Tropical Gardens.
The hotel features a grand dining room with seafood, steaks and chops served at Casa Marina's Flagler's Restaurant, named after the man who built the original hotel. Sun Sun, an open air wood pavilion overlooking the pools and the beach, serves light lunch and dinner options under umbrella tables. A business center provides wireless Internet access for a fee. The hotel boasts the largest private beach in Key West with more than 1,000 feet of pristine beachfront property. Surrounded by lush lawns, sculpted hedges and tropical gardens, the resort includes two pools, three tennis courts and padded lawn chairs that line large sundecks. Bicycles and watercraft equipment can be rented from the resort's pier where guests join snorkeling, scuba diving and dolphin viewing excursions, go deep sea or flat fishing and sail aboard catamarans at sunset. A sauna and fitness center are additional recreational amenities. Babysitting services can be arranged by the 24-hour front desk staff.
Guestrooms feature tropical décor, ceiling fans and crown molding. Amenities include minibars, coffeemakers, in room safes, complimentary newspapers and wireless Internet access for a fee.
Built by Florida developer Henry Flagler on Key West's south shore, this exquisite resort is listed on the National Historic Register.
