The Governor Hotel is distinguished as a property that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in the scenic city of Portland, Ore., the hotel was renovated in 2005.
This Pacific Northwest landmark is four blocks from Pioneer Place Mall and Pioneer Courthouse Square. The Portland Performing Arts Center is seven blocks away, and the Oregon Convention Center is one half mile from the property.
The Governor Hotel added a west wing in 1923 to accommodate the Portland Elks Club, and took its architectural guidance from the Farnese Palace in Rome.
Dining includes Jake's Grill, which showcases a brass and mahogany bar, carved wooden columns, historic photos and mounted wild game. The Dome Room features an eight foot, stained glass domed ceiling. Jake's Grill serves seafood, steaks and specialty desserts. Starbucks serves coffee specialties onsite. A lobby kiosk with wireless Internet access and 14,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space accommodate traveling professionals and celebratory parties. As an added hotel benefit, shoeshine service is complimentary.
The east wing of the Governor Hotel houses 72 guestrooms, while the west wing contains 28 accommodations that retain the hotel's original style.

The hotel is across the street from the Galleria, home of the Western Culinary Institute.
The institute offers two onsite restaurants that are operated and staffed by the school.
Bleu, the formal restaurant, serves lunch and dinner, and Café Bleu is an upscale patisserie.
The hotel will be renovating its pool and fitness facility through January, 2007. A temporary fitness center has been set up for guest use until the permanent facility is opened.
