The Hotel Rival is a seven storey boutique hotel with modern and original 1930s interiors, set in the centre of Stockholm, one kilometre from the Royal Palace.
The 99 individually designed movie themed guestrooms feature light, colourful décor with contemporary furnishings and include plasma TVs with satellite channels and pay movies, DVD/CD players, video game consoles, wireless Internet connections and minibars.
The Bistro Rival is a relaxed, contemporary dining room with leather sofas, period style furniture, dark oak floors and yellow stained wooden wall panelling decorated with 924 movie star portraits. The menu offers European dishes and Swedish specialities, and a Scandinavian buffet breakfast is served every morning. The light, informal café serves fresh bread from the adjacent Rival Bakery, plus coffee, salads, lunches, hot snacks, beer and wine. In the evening, guests can enjoy classic cocktails in the hotel's Art Déco bar, which retains much of its original décor. The hotel also houses five meeting rooms equipped with audio visual facilities, and those wishing to catch up on e mails or surf the web can do so via high speed wireless Internet access. The front desk has a safe deposit box for storing valuables, and meals and snacks are available via the 24-hour room service menu. Motorists will find valet parking services available on request. The city's Old Town, the island of Djurgσrden, the Vasa museum and Modern Art Museum are all one kilometre from the hotel.
