Set in a leafy residential area six kilometres west of central Rome, the Aurelia Antica offers modern rooms and apartments next to Villa Doria Pamphili park.

The nearest airport is Rome Fiumicino (FCO), 22 kilometres away.

Guests enter through a gate to reach Aurelia Antica Suites and Apartments. The lobby walls are constructed with 'opus reticulatum' replicas of the hand made bricks used to build much of ancient Rome and large paintings depicting scenes of ancient Rome hang behind cushioned bamboo sofas and chairs.

The day begins with breakfast, served amid the cool white linens of the Aurelia Antica's breakfast room. Guests can relax with a book in the hotel's gardens, surrounded by lawns, flowerbeds, and trees, or use wireless Internet to keep in touch or plan a day's sightseeing.

The 60 square metre swimming pool is open during the summer months, and there are four clay tennis courts onsite (surcharge). A full service spa is located next door to the residence and offers a 50 per cent discount on some treatments, and free parking is provided onsite.

The Aurelia Antica has 99 rooms and apartments spread over five floors. White walls give bedrooms a bright, airy feel and contrast with dark wall to wall carpeting and brass bedsteads. Rooms open onto furnished terraces or balconies overlooking the swimming pool, tennis courts, and garden.

Apartments have separate lounge and dining areas with wooden floors. All rooms are air conditioned and include refrigerators, televisions, and wireless Internet; kitchenettes can also be used for a surcharge.

The Villa Doria Pamphili park next to the residence is the largest park in Rome. The street Via Leone XIII was opened for the 1960 Olympic Games and divides the park's 184 hectares into two sections: the east comprises historical monuments, statues, and fountains while the west offers a wild, natural environment for joggers and walkers.
