On a quiet street one block from the River Tiber, the contemporary Hotel dei Mellini is housed behind a pristine 18th century neoclassical faτade, formerly two apartment buildings.
The 80 air conditioned guestrooms are decorated in soft neutral shades of taupe and brown with heavy striped drapes, cream upholstery, coordinating patterned bedspreads, and cherry wood furniture. In the surrounding streets guests will find many boutiques and cafés including a tempting choice of cake and chocolate shops, and visitors are just across the river from many of the city's sights the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, and Villa Borghese are all within one kilometre. The Vatican is two kilometres and the Coliseum is three kilometres away.
