Carved into a natural setting between two lakes and the east channel of the Mackenzie River, the Arctic Chalet is located in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, Canada. The town of Inuvik is positioned two degrees above the Arctic Circle, and features an igloo church located in the center of town. Property amenities include learning the fine points of driving a Siberian/Malamute dogsled team, a skill taught by the lodging's owners. Canoeing, fishing and kayaking are also major activities in this mountainous area, and the owners can assist guests as they plan excursions. Rental vehicles allow land based adventurers to plot their explorations. Non smoking cabins are divided into two or three separate units with double or queen beds. Cabins include satellite television and wireless Internet access. Natural pine paneling, pine desks and chairs are complemented with native and North Canadian design accents. Most units include private bathrooms and kitchenettes. Pets are allowed in designated rooms.
