The Hotel d'Inghilterra is located next to one of Rome's most popular attractions, the Spanish Steps, and is housed in what was a royal palace in the 16th century.
The hotel's guestrooms have a décor harking back to its palatial traditions, with lavish silk and damask fabrics, baroque mirrors and 19th century antiques. All the rooms come equipped with air conditioning, satellite television, minibars, safes, slippers and complimentary newspapers. Marble bathrooms include bathrobes and complimentary toiletries.
Guests can dine on international dishes in the Caffé Romano which is decorated with barrel vaulted ceilings in Pompeian red, leather sets and marble and granite floors. True to its name, the hotel has a bar designed to recall the surroundings of an English country pub, including the essential wall prints of country hunting scenes and offering a selection of coffees as well as pints of English ale.
In addition to the artwork allocated to the guestrooms and public areas, the hotel also has its own art gallery showcasing work from well known Italian artists.
The hotel offers two lavish function rooms as venues for conferences and business lunches situated in the Palazzo Torlonia opposite the hotel. Audio visual facilities are available and the rooms can cater for up to 60 people in various seating configurations.
Among the many attractions to visit when in Rome are the Trevi fountain, 500 meters away, where visitors follow the traditional custom of throwing coins in for good luck. The ancient Roman Forum and St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City both lie two kilometers from the hotel. The famous Colosseum is 2.5 kilometers away.
Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) is 35 kilometers from the hotel.
