You have in mind a body of information you want to put across to your reader. This section provides suggestions on how you can organize that information into your Web site.
If you were to write a book, you would normally start out by sorting your thoughts into a hierarchical tree, like the chapters of a book.
You need to do this for yourself, to use as a guide as you work, and more importantly to help your readers know what they can find and where. Enabling your audience to easily navigate greatly increases your site’s appeal.
Step one is pulling your concepts into an outline, much like doing a table of contents. Categorize your information into key sections, with your key concepts as headings.
A simple diagram will help you visualize the flow of content on your site, which of your content can be organized into groups or sections, and how individual pages can be connected.
This also serves to organize your Web’s file structure, when you start creating and saving your work.
Let us take for example the content of this section of the workshop.
