Frames allow authors to present a document’s content in a multiple-view window.
Frames offer a way to keep certain information visible, such as navigation links, while the main content may be scrolled and replaced.
For instance, at the top of a browser window may be a frame which displays a set of links to access the site’s major sections; at the left or right of a browser window may be a frame to show a subset of links for the current section; and in most cases, at this portion of the page may be a frame where each of the site’s main documents are loaded.
This guide covers introductory information on how frames are used in an HTML document.
