DataControlField.FooterStyle Property

System.Web.UI.WebControls Namespace   DataControlField Class

.NET Framework version 2.0

Sets or retrieves the style properties for the footer section of a DataControlField.

Syntax

Script DataControlField.FooterStyle.Property [ = enumValue ]

Property Value

A TableItemStyle object that defines the style properties for the footer section of a DataControlField.

Remarks

Use the FooterStyle property to provide a custom style for the footer row in types that derive from the DataControlField class. Common style attributes that can be set include forecolor, backcolor, font, and content alignment within the cell. Providing different item styles enhances the appearance of the DataControlField control.

NOTE: Some data-bound controls do not render a footer item for a data control field. For example, the DetailsView control displays its data control fields as rows, thus a footer item is not rendered for these data control fields. The FooterStyle property is ignored in these controls.

The FooterStyle subproperties can be set declaratively using either of the following methods:

  • Include an attribute in the opening tag of the DataControlField control in the form FooterStyle-Property
    <asp:datacontrolfield ...
       footerstyle-property=value
       ... >

    </asp:datacontrolfield>
  • Include a <FooterStyle> element between the opening and closing tags of the DataControlField control
    <asp:datacontrolfield ... >

       <footerstyle
          ... property definitions here />

    </asp:datacontrolfield>

The subproperties can also be set programmatically in the form FooterStyle.Property.

For a list of style properties that can be set, see the TableItemStyle class.
