Menu.StaticEnableDefaultPopOutImage Property

System.Web.UI.WebControls Namespace   Menu Class

.NET Framework version 2.0

Returns or sets a value indicating whether the built-in image that indicates that a static menu item has a submenu is displayed.

Syntax

Inline <asp:menu staticenabledefaultpopoutimage = value ... >
Script Menu.StaticEnableDefaultPopOutImage [ = value ]

Property Value

This property accepts or returns only a boolean value: true to display the built-in image for static menu items with submenus; otherwise, false. Default value is true.

Remarks

When a static menu item contains a submenu, an image can be displayed to indicate that the user can expand the menu by positioning the mouse pointer over the menu item. There are two ways to display this image:

  • Set the StaticEnableDefaultPopOutImage property to true to use the built-in image ( default ).
  • Set the StaticPopOutImageUrl property to specify a custom image.

If the StaticPopOutImageUrl property is set, that image overrides the built-in image.

NOTE: If the StaticPopOutImageUrl property is not set and the StaticEnableDefaultPopOutImage property is set to false, no image is displayed.

You can specify alternate text for the image by setting the StaticPopOutImageTextFormatString property. This text is displayed as a ToolTip when the user positions the mouse pointer over the image. This text also provides assistive technology devices with a description of the image that can be used to make the control more accessible.

Example

The following example demonstrates how to use the StaticEnableDefaultPopOutImage property to hide the image that indicates that a static menu item has a submenu.

<asp:menu id = "navigationMenu"
   staticdisplaylevels=2
   staticsubmenuindent=10
   staticenabledefaultpopoutimage=false
   runat = "server">

   <items>
      ...
   </items>

</asp:menu>
