Specifies the template to use for the root node in a SiteMapPath control.

An ITemplate interface that defines how the root node in a SiteMapPath control is rendered.

The property is read/write with no default value.

The RootNodeTemplate functions in the same way as the NodeTemplate, but is rendered only for the root node in the SiteMapPath control.

To specify a template for the root node in a SiteMapPath control, declare a <RootNodeTemplate> element between the opening and closing tags of the control. You can then list the contents of the template between the opening and closing <RootNodeTemplate> ... </RootNodeTemplate> tags.

In the RootNodeTemplate, declare the appropriate server control, such as an Image or HyperLink control, that you intend to use.
