System.Globalization Namespace NumberFormatInfo Class
Sets or retrieves the string that separates groups of digits to the left of the decimal in numeric values.
[ VB ] public Property NumberGroupSeparator As String [ C# ] public string NumberGroupSeparator {get; set;} [ C++ ] public: __property String* get_NumberGroupSeparator ( ); public: __property void set_NumberGroupSeparator ( String* ); [ JScript ] function get NumberGroupSeparator ( ) : String; public function set NumberGroupSeparator ( String );
The string that separates groups of digits to the left of the decimal in numeric values. The default for InvariantInfo is ",".
The initial value of this property is derived from the settings in Regional and Language Options ( or Regional Options or Regional Settings ) in Control Panel. However, if any of the group separators ( NumberGroupSeparator, CurrencyGroupSeparator, or PercentGroupSeparator ) is the same as any of the decimal separators ( NumberDecimalSeparator, CurrencyDecimalSeparator, or PercentDecimalSeparator ), parsing ambiguous strings produces unpredictable results. If you explicitly set any of the group separator properties in NumberFormatInfo to a value that is the same as any of the decimal separators or if you explicitly set any of the decimal separators to a value that is the same as any of the group separators, ArgumentException is thrown.
The below shows the NumberGroupSeparator used for each of the available cultures.
